Terms of service

1. What the site is

The site offers a free seat predictor and choice-list simulator for JoSAA (and, when launched, other counselling bodies), an AI "Counsellor" chat, paid 1:1 counselling sessions, and a paid Season Pass. All of it is advisory: information and analysis to help you decide. None of it is admission advice from, or on behalf of, any counselling authority or college.

2. Estimates, not promises

• Probabilities are produced by a statistical model fitted on published historical closing ranks. They are honest estimates with real uncertainty, and can be wrong for any individual seat or year.
• Nothing on the site guarantees, arranges or influences any allotment. No seat is ever "assured". Anyone who tells you otherwise is not us.
• Eligibility, quotas, categories, deadlines, fees and your final option order must be verified on the official portal (josaa.nic.in, csab.nic.in, mcc.nic.in or your state body) before you submit anything. If the site and the official portal disagree, the portal is right.
• The Counsellor chat is an AI assistant. It can make mistakes and only sees the data on your page. Treat it as a well-read friend, not an authority.

3. Your use of the site

• You may use the site for your own (or your child's or student's) counselling. Don't scrape it, overload it, resell its output, or use the chat for anything other than counselling questions.
• Don't post abusive, hateful or unlawful content in the chat; we filter and refuse it.
• If you are under 18, use the paid features with a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf.

4. 1:1 counselling sessions

• A session is a 45-minute video call at the time you book, priced as shown on the booking page plus applicable GST, paid in advance through Dodo Payments.
• Your slot is confirmed when payment succeeds; you receive a calendar invite and Google Meet link by email.
• Rescheduling: free, up to 6 hours before the session, by replying to your confirmation email or WhatsApp message. Later than that, or if you don't turn up, the session is treated as taken.
• Refunds: full refund if we cancel or cannot deliver the session. If you cancel at least 24 hours before, full refund; between 24 and 6 hours, 50%; later, none. Refunds go back to the original payment method within 5–7 working days.
• The session is advice from the counsellor's own knowledge and the site's tools. You remain responsible for every choice you submit.

5. Season Pass

The Season Pass is a one-time purchase covering one counselling cycle for one exam, as described on the pricing page at the time of purchase. It is not a subscription and does not renew. Because it is a digital service that begins immediately, it is refundable in full within 48 hours of purchase if you have not used its paid features, and otherwise at our discretion. Alerts and reminders are sent on a best-effort basis; official deadlines remain your responsibility.

6. Payments

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments; we don't see or store your card or UPI details. Prices are in Indian rupees. Taxes are shown at checkout. If a payment fails or is reversed, the related booking or pass is cancelled.

7. Privacy

How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. In one line: we never sell or share your details with colleges, coaching centres or marketers.

8. Availability and changes

The free tools are provided as-is and may be changed, paused or withdrawn at any time. We try to keep the site up during counselling season but don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may update these terms; the date at the top changes when we do, and continued use means you accept the new version.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by Indian law, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the site's estimates, the chat, or a session — including a seat not allotted, a deadline missed, or a fee forfeited. Our total liability for any paid service is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Intellectual property

The site's design, code, text and model outputs are ours. Underlying counselling data comes from public sources published by the counselling authorities. You may share screenshots and links freely for personal use.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts of Delhi. We'd much rather resolve any problem by email first.
